【PhoneAuto News】Recently, PhoneAuto has learned from reliable sources that the production of the BMW 1 Series Sports Sedan (F52) has been discontinued in July, and its production line will be dismantled. In the future, BMW will start production of the extended wheelbase 2 Series four-door coupe with the chassis code F78, which is the domestic version of the all-new 2 Series four-door coupe. Although the new car has not been officially released, it is expected to start production overseas from November next year.
BMW 2 Series Four-Door Coupe
Currently, the imported version of the BMW 2 Series four-door coupe has an official guide price of 272,900 to 2.989 million RMB yuan. According to the prici ng rules of BMW models after localization production, the price of the domestic version is expected to be significantly reduced. It is reported that a more powerful M235L version derived from the all-new 2 Series four-door coupe (F78) will also be produced and sold domestically, but the power information of this car has not been revealed yet.

BMW 2 Series Four-Door Coupe Interior
Referring to the previously released parameters of the all-new BMW X1 M35i and the all-new BMW X2 M35i, it is expected that this car will be equipped with the latest upgraded transverse B48 2.0T gasoline engine, with a maximum power output of 221 kW (300 horsepower) and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The transmission system will be paired with a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission.
In addition, there are reports from overseas media that BMW will introduce a new logo naming rule in the future, and the “i” logo representing gasoline models will be discontinued. The former M235i may be changed to M235, and the domestic version will be called M235L. This naming change is expected to extend to the next generation of 1 Series, X3, and other new cars. However, this news has not been officially confirmed by BMW.
