Has the Apple phone fallen out of favor? ‘iPhone 15 price plunge’ ranks second on the trending search list.

Is Apple Losing Popularity? 'iPhone 15 Price Drop' Takes Second Spot on Trending Searches List

【Mobile China News】Less than two months after its release, the prices of iPhone 15 series phones can no longer “hold up.” On e-commerce platforms like Pinduoduo and Douyin, some products have seen price reductions of over 1500 yuan. On October 30th, Mobile China noticed that the topic of “#iPhone 15 price drop” reached the second spot on Weibo’s hot search list. As of the time this article was written, the topic had already accumulated 75.416 million views. Industry insiders point out that the diversification of sales channels combined with the promotional effects of “Double 11” has caused Apple phone prices to plummet. However, more importantly, the concept of “high-end” is facing unprecedented challenges in the current mobile phone market.

According to reports, Beijing Business Daily reporters visited the Apple retail store in Wangfujing and discovered that the iPhone 15 has not been reduced in price. Store employees also stated that they have not received any notifications regarding price reductions. They also mentioned that the actions of platforms like Pinduoduo have nothing to do with the physical stores. However, at the same time, employees also mentioned that compared to the frenzy of buying when the iPhone 15 series was first released, the store now has more stock, and some colors of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro do not require reservations.

Subsequently, reporters also visited other physical stores, and many employees stated that the iPhone 15 series has not been reduced in price. This is not only the case for Apple, but in fact, new models of phones released this year have no possibility of price reductions. Regarding the availability of supplies, employees mentioned that neither the iPhone 15 nor the iPhone 15 Pro are available in stock and need to be reserved and sourced from elsewhere.

Analysts pointed out that compared to distributors, Apple’s official price reductions are more conservative. On one hand, Apple must maintain overall product price consistency, otherwise it would lead to pricing chaos and self-competition, ultimately affecting overall shipments. On the other hand, Apple has always maintained a high-end brand image, and significant price reductions would make Apple seem contradictory.
