【PhoneAuto News】On the evening of May 15th, Haval officially released two long-awaited new models: Haval Xilong and Haval Xilong MAX. The two models are positioned as compact and mid-size SUVs, with price ranges of 139,800-1.568 million yuan and 159,800-179,800 yuan, respectively. This price is also intended to benchmark BYD Song Pro and Song PLUS.

From the appearance, Haval Xilong adopts the latest design language of the Haval family, with the front part using the currently popular borderless air intake grille, and the front of the car using diamond-cut lines. The “7”-shaped headlights with tearful eyes are very eye-catching, and the front enclosed grille connects the two T-shaped LED light groups on both sides. Xilong MAX adopts a design language inspired by fighter jets. The front grille adopts a very popular borderless outward expansion design, bringing stronger visual impact. In terms of body size, Xilong has a length, width, and height of 4600 millimeters/1877 millimeters/1675 millimeters, and a wheelbase of 2710 millimeters, while Xilong MAX is 4758 millimeters/1895 millimeters/1725 millimeters, and the wheelbase has also reached 2800 millimeters, which has a certain advantage compared with competitors in the same price range.

As for the interior, Haval Xilong adopts a dual-screen design of 7-inch LCD instrument panel + 12.3-inch center console. The cockpit also adopts a wrap-around design, emphasizing driving and sportiness. The vehicle also provides front seat 6-way electric adjustment, ventilation/heating and other configurations, and also provides comfort-enhancing configurations such as auxiliary passenger hooks, wireless charging, 64-color ambient lighting, and electric tailgate. The Xilong MAX interior provides three 12.3-inch screens, including a digital instrument panel, a center console screen, and an entertainment screen for the co-pilot, all of which are equipped with a new generation of Coffee OS intelligent cockpit system. The new car also retains some physical buttons on the center console, which enhances the sense of technology while not sacrificing practicality.

In terms of power, Haval Xionglong is equipped with a 1.5L engine and a front-mounted single motor to form a plug-in hybrid system. The maximum power output is 101 horsepower, and the maximum torque is 132 N·m. The transmission system is matched with a 2-speed DHT gearbox, and the pure electric NEDC range is 52km and 110km respectively. Xionglong MAX is the first to be equipped with Haval’s latest Hi4 four-wheel drive system, which optimizes the dual motors in the traditional DHT gearbox, allowing the generator to also provide power to the front axle, thereby achieving four-wheel drive mode. The total power of the system reaches 205 kW, the peak torque is 585 N·m, and the 0-100km/h acceleration time takes only 6.5 seconds.
