Huawei announces emergency call interface patent to enhance rescue operation success rate
【phoneauto News】On October 10th, Tianyancha App showed that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has applied for a patent titled “Method and Terminal for Displaying Current Geographic Location on Emergency Call Interface”, which has been published.

The patent abstract shows that the method includes: detecting whether the user initiates an emergency call; if the user initiates an emergency call, displaying the acquired current geographic location information on the emergency call interface; the display mode includes at least one of the following: text form, map form. The method can display the current geographic location information on the emergency call interface. After the emergency call is connected, the user can inform the rescue party of the current geographic location information displayed on the emergency call interface, so as to enable the rescue party to provide rescue services more reasonably and timely, and improve the success rate of rescue.

Introduction to Huawei related patents
In areas without network coverage, such as remote wilderness, Huawei has already launched the phone BeiDou satellite messaging function on some models. According to Huawei’s official introduction, in the absence of signal on the phone (no cellular network/WLAN network coverage) and when in an open and unobstructed environment, messages can be sent and received through the BeiDou satellite in the “BeiDou Satellite Messaging” service account in the Smooth Connect App. This feature currently supports Huawei Mate 50 series, Huawei Mate Xs 2 (including the Collector’s Edition), Huawei P60 series, Huawei Mate X3, Huawei nova 11 UItra, as well as the newly launched Huawei Mate 60 series and Huawei Mate X5 (including the Collector’s Edition).
During the public beta testing phase, Huawei Mate 50 series and Huawei Mate Xs 2 have a free monthly quota of 30 messages, which will be reset to zero at 24:00 on the last day of the month. Other supported models have a total of 30 free quotas for sending and receiving messages per month, which will be reset to zero at 24:00 on the last day of the month.
