Industry insiders have stated, “Huawei does have plans for this. They plan to release a HarmonyOS version that is not compatible with Android next year. Just recently, Huawei announced a comprehensive cooperation with Meituan based on HarmonyOS for industrial innovation, technological applications, and business development, among other aspects. They will fully support Meituan in launching the development of native HarmonyOS applications. At the “HarmonyOS Native Application Development Kickoff Ceremony,” Zhu Yonggang, President of Huawei Terminal Cloud Services, stated, “HarmonyOS is committed to creating a new ecosystem where ‘everything is a service, and everything can be shared.’ HarmonyOS’s unique distributed technology, as well as its ability for one-time development and multi-platform deployment, can allow Meituan’s services to seamlessly flow on smartphones, tablets, car devices, and other devices, providing users with a contextual and intelligent ‘service on demand’ new experience.”

Since Huawei announced the full launch of HarmonyOS native applications in September, companies and developers from various fields such as finance, travel, and social media have successively announced their participation in the HarmonyOS ecosystem. In addition to Meituan, manufacturers such as Air China, BabyBus, and LY.com have announced their involvement in HarmonyOS native application development.
