Mercedes-Benz's first global supercharging station will open in Chengdu in October, available for other brands

【phoneauto News】Recently, phoneauto has learned that Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the launch of the first batch of 480 kW ultra-fast charging stations in China. The world’s first Mercedes-Benz ultra-fast charging station will be located in Chengdu and put into use in October this year.

It is understood that in addition to Chengdu, other stations will also be launched in core new energy vehicle markets such as Beijing and Shenzhen within this year. The first batch of Mercedes-Benz ultra-fast charging stations to be put into use will be located near authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships. According to official information, the charging power of Mercedes-Benz ultra-fast charging stations can reach up to 480 kW. Taking a station equipped with four charging piles as an example, the total power of a single station can reach up to 600 kW. It is also equipped with intelligent power scheduling technology, which can dynamically allocate power between charging piles based on the charging needs of vehicles, reducing the waiting time for vehicle owners to charge.

It is worth noting that the Mercedes-Benz ultra-fast charging network will also be open to other brands of vehicles. Mercedes-Benz users can enjoy a series of exclusive charging benefits, including charging pile reservations and instant charging. At present, Mercedes-Benz will provide Chinese users with a variety of charging service products, including brand charging networks (ultra-fast charging and rapid charging), home intelligent charging wall boxes, one-stop interconnection public charging services, emergency road rescue, and one-click charging services.

It is reported that in order to fully promote “comprehensive electrification,” Mercedes-Benz is continuously expanding its luxury new energy product lineup. At this year’s Chengdu Auto Show, four models based on the EVA pure electric platform were unveiled: pure electric EQS, pure electric EQE, EQS pure electric SUV, and the all-new EQE pure electric SUV.

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to Mercedes-Benz, BMW has also begun to make efforts in the field of supplementary energy. BMW has officially released the BMW Super Charging Station, which supports a maximum charging current of 600 amps for high-power charging piles. The maximum charging power of some BMW pure electric models can theoretically reach 200 kilowatts. It only takes about 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
