On September 11th, Phoneauto noticed that an organization compiled a ranking of global companies based on their research and development investment intensity. Among the top ten companies in terms of global research and development funding, only one company is from China, and that is Huawei.
In the automotive industry, according to information provided by the Qichacha app, Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. has publicly disclosed the rear structure of its new vehicle body and a patent for a door-opening vehicle. The application number for this patent is CN111523510A. The list of companies shows that the current top ten companies in terms of global research and development funding are Google (212.574 billion yuan) and META (Facebook’s parent company) from the United States, Microsoft from the United States, Huawei from China (149.008 billion yuan), Apple from the United States, Samsung from South Korea (128.251 billion yuan), Volkswagen from Germany (118.87 billion yuan), Intel from the United States (102.306 billion yuan), Roche from Switzerland, and Johnson & Johnson from the United States (99.101 billion yuan).
The newly disclosed patent by Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. mainly involves the rear structure design and the opening and closing method of the door for the vehicle. According to the patent’s abstract, the rear structure of the vehicle body includes a hinge mechanism, rear doors, and reinforcement plates within the rear floor wheel cover. This design allows the rear doors to rotate and open, providing users with a more convenient boarding and disembarking experience.
