From the pictures shared by this user, it is evident that there is a very clear green line on the right side of the phone screen. The user wrote on Reddit, “Thank God, I was in the store when this happened.” Although the image cannot directly prove that this phone is the Google Pixel 8 Pro, if you look at the reflection on the screen of this smartphone, it looks very similar to the Google Pixel 8 Pro with curved edges. When this green line appears, the phone seems to be in setup mode, with the page displaying “Welcome to your Pixel”.

The user did not explain the cause behind the green line on their new Pixel 8 Pro in their post, but this situation has made potential buyers of the Pixel 8 Pro somewhat uneasy. The user mentioned that they obtained a new replacement from an offline store to address this issue. The green line problem is likely related to a hardware issue, which occurs when the display connector or the flexible circuit connecting the display and the motherboard becomes loose, damaged, or defective. It may cause irreversible damage to the screen with the green line.

Since 2018, this issue has first surfaced on devices using OLED and AMOLED screens, including smartphone brands like Samsung and OnePlus. As a solution, they either release a software update that partially addresses this issue or promise to provide lifelong screen warranty.
