Stellantis and Ample enter cooperation agreement for battery swapping technology

[PhoneAuto News] Recently, PhoneAuto noticed that Stellantis, a globally renowned car manufacturer, has announced a partnership with Ample, a developer of removable electric vehicle batteries. This partnership will provide Stellantis electric vehicle owners with a more convenient and faster charging service.

Ample is an innovative company based in San Francisco that focuses on the research and application of removable battery technology. Through the collaboration with Ample, Stellantis will be able to offer its owners a new charging method, which involves quickly swapping batteries to restore power, similar to refueling at traditional gas stations but more environmentally friendly and efficient.

According to the partnership agreement, Stellantis electric vehicle owners will be able to swap for fully charged batteries at Ample’s battery exchange stations. This service will save owners time and effort, eliminating the need to search for charging stations or wait for charging time. At the same time, Ample will be responsible for establishing and managing the infrastructure, while the fleets that utilize their services will pay for energy usage. This collaborative model will provide more convenience for Stellantis electric vehicle owners and promote the development of removable battery technology.

This partnership not only aligns with Stellantis’ strategy for electric vehicles but also serves as further promotion and application of Ample’s removable battery technology. Through this joint effort, both parties will contribute to the development of the electric vehicle market and provide a more environmentally friendly and convenient transportation option for global car owners.
