Tesla launches cheaper Standard Range versions for Model S and Model X

【Phoneauto News】Tesla is re-introducing the Standard Range version for the Model S and Model X.

The Tesla official website shows that the new entry-level models are once again called Standard Range. They are $10,000 cheaper than the regular versions of the Model S and Model X, but their range is reduced. It is expected to affect the purchasing intentions of users who care about long range.

Tesla Model S Standard Range version

The starting price of the Tesla Model S Standard Range version is $78,490, equipped with standard 19-inch Tempest wheels, and can travel about 320 miles (515 km) on a full charge. If you choose the 21-inch Arachnid wheels, which cost an extra $4,500, the range will be reduced to 298 miles (480 km). In comparison, the EPA estimated range of the long range version of the Model S equipped with standard wheels is 405 miles (650 km).

According to the specification sheet, the newly launched Model S Standard Range version is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, while the regular Model S has an acceleration time of 3.1 seconds, and the Plaid version has an acceleration time of 1.99 seconds. The top speed is 149 mph (240 km/h), the same as the regular Model S, while the Plaid is equipped with a three-motor all-wheel drive system and has a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h).

The starting price of the Tesla Model X Standard Range version is $88,490, equipped with 20-inch Cyberstream wheels, and the estimated range is 269 miles (433 km), while the optional 22-inch Turbine wheels, which cost an extra $5,500, will reduce the range to 255 miles (410 km). The regular version of this midsize SUV is priced at $98,490 and has an estimated range of 330 miles (531 km) with the standard wheels.

The maximum speed of the standard version and the regular version of the Model X is 155 miles per hour (approximately 250 km/h), while the Plaid version has a maximum speed of 163 miles per hour (approximately 262 km/h). The standard version of the Model X takes 4.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour, while the regular version only takes 3.8 seconds, and the Plaid version only takes 2.5 seconds.

Domestic Model S

Regarding the domestic market, when phoneauto checked the Tesla official website, it was found that there are currently no new versions of the Model S and Model X.
