This time, Apple seems to have started assembling the iPhone 15 in India earlier than usual. Now, a new report states that the Indian-made iPhone 15 will start shipping in mid-September.

Last month, there were reports that Apple had started assembling the iPhone 15 at Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur factory in Tamil Nadu. According to ET, Apple is preparing to launch the Indian-made iPhone 15 shortly after its global release, possibly even simultaneously. This will be the first time that an iPhone manufactured in India is released, as the launch time for Indian-made iPhones is usually slightly later than other markets.

Although Apple does not manufacture iPhones in India, it has been assembling them in the country for the past few years. It is reported that India’s goal this time is to have a production timeline closer to that of China, as India’s production process has been 6 to 9 months behind China in the past.

This time, Indian-made iPhones can also start shipping a few weeks after the Chinese-made iPhones arrive. In order to bridge this time gap, Apple is trying to compensate by pushing for early assembly of iPhones in India. It is reported that Apple has two other iPhone factories in India, namely Pegatron and Wistron, which will also start assembling the new iPhones soon.

The new iPhone series from Apple is expected to have four models – iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max or Ultra. This time, all four models are expected to come with the “Lingdong Island”. Another major upgrade is the USB-C port, as Apple has finally given in to universal charging.

It is rumored that Apple will also introduce two new colors – Titan Gray and Deep Blue – for the Pro models. It is said that these colors will replace gold and purple, and the new Deep Blue will be the special color for this year. According to reports, the choice of new colors is also to highlight the titanium surface of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro model.
