【Phoneauto News】On October 10th, according to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, as of the end of September 2023, the total number of motor vehicles in the country reached 430 million, including 330 million automobiles and 18.21 million new energy vehicles. There are 520 million motor vehicle drivers, including 480 million automobile drivers.

The number of new energy vehicles reached 18.21 million, with 5.198 million newly registered in the first three quarters. As of the end of September, the total number of new energy vehicles in the country reached 18.21 million, accounting for 5.5% of the total number of automobiles. Among them, the number of pure electric vehicles reached 14.01 million, accounting for 76.9% of the total number of new energy vehicles. From the first to the third quarter of 2023, there were 5.198 million newly registered new energy vehicles in the country, a year-on-year increase of 40%, accounting for 28.6% of the total number of newly registered automobiles. The number of newly registered new energy vehicles in the first, second, and third quarters were 1.44 million, 1.709 million, and 2.049 million, respectively.

A total of 90 cities have more than 1 million automobiles, with 25 cities including Chengdu, Beijing, and Chongqing having more than 3 million automobiles. As of the end of September, there were 90 cities in the country with more than 1 million automobiles, an increase of 8 cities compared to the previous year. Among them, 43 cities have more than 2 million automobiles, and 25 cities have more than 3 million automobiles.
