【Phoneauto News】On August 14th, Phoneauto noticed that market research firm Canalys released the ranking of global smartphone manufacturers in key markets for the second quarter of 2023. According to the survey, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Transsion has entered the top five globally, ranking just below Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, and OPPO.
According to the research data, in the second quarter of 2023, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Transsion benefited from the recovery of the African market and other reasons, successfully becoming one of the top five smartphone manufacturers globally, with a quarterly shipment volume of over 22 million units. At the same time, among the top five global smartphone manufacturers, only Transsion achieved positive growth, with Samsung falling 14%, Apple falling 13%, Xiaomi falling 16%, and OPPO falling 8%.

For this domestic smartphone manufacturer Transsion, some netizens may feel unfamiliar. In fact, Transsion’s mobile phone products are not publicly sold in the domestic market. Consumers can at most obtain some overseas versions of Transsion mobile phones through second-hand trading platforms or offline transactions. Therefore, Transsion’s mobile phone sales in the domestic market are almost negligible. However, in countries and regions such as India, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, Transsion has a very strong influence. Currently, Transsion is the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in Europe and South America, the third largest in the Middle East, and holds a 54% market share in Africa. Transsion’s sales in Africa are more than twice that of local Samsung phones and about six times that of local Xiaomi phones.
