It is reported that the price of TSMC’s foundry chips has been steadily rising. Currently, in 2023, TSMC’s 3nm wafer foundry price is 19,150 US dollars per wafer, which is approximately equivalent to 140,000 yuan. Compared with the 13,400 US dollars (approximately 95,500 yuan) of the 5nm wafer, the price has increased by more than 40%. Compared with the 10,235 US dollars (approximately 73,000 yuan) of the 7nm wafer, the price has increased by about 100%.

Currently, TSMC is the most important chip foundry company in the world, and well-known enterprises such as Qualcomm, MediaTek, Apple, NVIDIA, and AMD all have close cooperation with TSMC. Among them, Apple should be one of TSMC’s most important customers. According to previous leaks, the new A17 chip will be used in the iPhone 15 series models to be released in the second half of this year. The A17 chip will be built using TSMC’s 3nm process, which is also Apple’s first 3nm A-series chip. In addition to the A17 chip, Apple’s M3 chip used in iPad and Mac is also likely to use TSMC’s 3nm process. It is reported that Apple has already reserved over 90% of TSMC’s 3nm production capacity this year to meet its huge chip demand.

According to relevant data, TSMC’s revenue in May 2023 was NT$ 176.4 billion (approximately RMB 40.9 billion), a decrease of 4.9% year-on-year and an increase of 19.4% month-on-month. At the same time, in the first five months of 2023, TSMC’s total revenue was NT$ 833 billion (approximately RMB 193.1 billion).
